All right. I thought we would jump back in my talking about the subject of hope. You know, hope is really a powerful force in this world. Now I’m not getting into politics one way or another. I know when Barack Obama was running for presidency, that’s, what he stood on was, was bringing back hope and it was a message that really resonated with a lot of Americans who felt like maybe they had lost their hope and , he was able to ride that wave to a victory.

Hope is a very powerful force. A lot of times what you see is when people finally make that horrible, horrific decision to commit suicide, they’ve lost all hope. As long as people have a glimmer that maybe tomorrow will be better than today. And that gives them the hope, the strength to go on. But when people finally settle in that tomorrow is going to be just as bad as today, maybe worse and all hope is gone. Unfortunately too many people then resort to drastic measures. You know, in the scripture it says that now faith, hope and love abide these three. But the greatest of these is love and know love is the absolute greatest. That doesn’t diminish the fact that faith and hope are still very powerful. I like to look at it like this. That hope is the thought that maybe God can or God will move on our behalf.

And faith is believing that God will move on our behalf. So to have hope that he will do something as strong, to have faith that he will do something as even stronger. Both of them are powerful forces to help us move on and continue to walk in the Lord and look forward to a tomorrow that can be better. A year from now that can be better and eternity, that can be better. That’s what to me is the most disastrous thought about hell is day after day after day after day of having no hope, nevermind burning fires, but that separation from God and the loss of any hope that things are ever going to be improved, going to improve. To me that the thought of that must be absolutely maddening, but we’re not here to dwell on the negative because we do have hope. We can have hope.

Hope was provided for us when a baby came down and was born to a Virgin, laid in a manger and grew up and suffered on the cross and then Rose again three days later so that we can have hope, that we can have faith that we can believe and that we can know that one day we will walk with our savior and that we will be delivered from the torments of this world, the difficulties of this world, the struggles and the hard situations. So I just pray that you will have hope that you will be able to grab hold of something that you can rely on and that’s something would be Jesus Christ. I pray that this blesses you and helps you in some small way.

So having said that, folks, let’s do our communion. I hope you have your elements nearby says in first Corinthians 1123 for I receive from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus and the night in which he was betrayed took bread and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, this is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me. Jesus, I thank you. I praise you. I worship you, that you came and gave your body to be broken so that I could have a hope and a future. Just like your word declared in Jeremiah 29 :11 that you had a good plan for us to give us a hope and a future, but you didn’t have plans for our harm but for good. Lord, we thank you for that hope that you provide in your precious name. I pray. Amen. Let’s take the bread

In the same way he took the cup also after supper. This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this as often as you drink it in remembrance of me for as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. Jesus, thank you for spilling your blood for pouring out that we can be washed clean, that though are sins were red as scarlet they could be washed and made white as snow. We thank you for that provision that you made from the foundation of the earth. You had a plan to spill your blood for your flesh to be broken so that we could be redeemed and brought back into relationship with you. Lord, I just thank you for all you’ve done for us and your name. I pray. Amen. Let’s take the cup.

All right folks, well, I’m glad to have spent this time with you in closing. Just remember, I would love it if you would go to fruitofthebean.com. Remember to use that code first and you can get a discount off of your coffee and , with every bit of coffee that you buy my wife and I give 10% to help support orphans.
