Thank you Ashton for that introduction. Good morning everybody. Welcome to another edition of the communion connection. This is episode seven. We’re going to really do this one quick. Have you ever had one of those weeks that were just absolute insanity? That’s how my week has been. I have worked more and had more things going on this week than I can remember in a long, long time. So I just want to spend this time with you, have some communion and then get ready to go lead my kids in children’s church this morning. I want to read this email I got, it’s from Sunshine Juice and it says starting after fall festival and the week from 10/12 to 10/19 we will be offering a discount on all juice cleanses in case you went a little too wild with the Pronto pups. So if you use code FF3DAY for $10 off a 3 day cleanse or FF1DAY for $5 off a one day cleanse. And you can do that by stopping in either one of their two stores or you can actually do it online by going to www.sunshinejuiceco.com. I’ll have a link to that in the show notes as well as you can read it in something new that we’re doing now, which is to put the transcripts of the shows on the website. So if you’re someone who likes to read things instead of listen, that’ll be an option now to by going to www.thecommunionconnection.com you can find different show notes for each show or the, the transcripts by just slash and the number of this show. So let’s say this show will be www.thecommunionconnection.com/007.
I told you that my week has been very crazy and as I was working yesterday, I started thinking about that, saying that the Lord will never give you more than you can handle. Actually, I really believe there’s a spin on that and those spin is subtle, but it’s what I found to be true is that the Lord that will never give you more than you can handle with him. See, when we try and handle things in our own strength, we can very often get overwhelmed. But when we turn to him, when we ask him to strengthen us, when we ask him to help us, to give us what we need to get through what we’re going through.
Us plus him gives us what we need to be able to get through every situation. And I’m glad my situation is temporary. Some are going through longterm things, they are going through pain and sickness, are going through difficult marriages, are going through loved ones with addictions. Whether you’re getting a a temporary reminder to turn to the Lord or whether your life is a constant reminder that you need to turn to the Lord, let us just do that and remember that in Philippians 4:13 it says that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, but that is the key is through Christ. Not we can do all things in ourselves, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
So with that, I’m going to read communion. I hope that through it you’ll experience the presence of the Lord. I pray that you’ll experience the healing of the Lord. And I pray that your walk with him will be just deepened as you experience knowing him and remembering what He did for you on the cross. In Corinthians, 1 Corinthians 11:23 it says, for I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night which he was betrayed, took bread. And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, this is my body, which is for you, do this in remembrance of me. Father, thank you that you sent your son to die for us to have his body broken so that we can be redeemed so that we can know you and walk in relationship with you. Jesus, I thank you that you give us strength to walk in this life. Your word said in this world there will be tribulation but not to worry because you have overcome the world and because you overcame the world, we can overcome this world. When we partner with you when we are in you, your word says in Christ we live and move and have our being. We don’t expect that by ourselves we can have the strength we need, but when we’re in you, when we couple with you, when we lean on you, you give us the strength to get through and I just thank you that you did that for us. You accomplish that for us on the cross and your name I pray. Amen.
Let’s take the bread, in verse 25 it says in the same way he took the cup also after supper saying this cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this as often as you drink it in remembrance of me for as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. Lord, I thank you for your spilled blood. I thank you that you took the thorns and the stripes and the nails in the spear and you poured out your blood for us Lord so that we can be washed so that we can be Maine clean so we could be redeemed and enter back into relationship with you. Lord, I’m grateful for what you purchased for me and I want to week by week, remember all that you’ve done. I love you Lord Jesus and I pray that by the Holy Spirit there would be a blessing on you as you listened to this and enter into communion. Thank you for all that you’ve done Jesus. In your name I pray. Amen. Let’s take the cup.
All right folks, I thank you for just taking a little bit of your time to spend with me on a Sunday morning. As I said in the beginning, I pray that it will be a blessing for you. I pray that your week, my week will be just lifted a little higher, that the presence of the Lord will be stronger and that we will feel his strength in us, no matter what our circumstances is, what our circumstances are. So with that, I’m going to let Ashton take us out. God bless.
